Saturday 8/11
I have finally relented and created a blog. I do not know why anyone would want to read this, but here goes....
I named my blog Knitting Notes because of my love of knitting and because I do mortgage loans - get it???? People sign a note when they get their mortgage. I have been doing mortgages it seems like forever and I love it. It is really gratifying to help someone get into their first home.
I had surgery 3 weeks ago and have not been able to drive until yesterday. Not just no driving, but no lifting anything over 10 pounds, no vacuuming, no cooking (other than sandwiches and light meals) and no laundry. That does not leave much else to do but knit and buy yarn on the web. I have gotten very good and both and my stash that was much to big to begin with has grown even more. I have to stop.
So since my surgery I have made 4 shrugs - one for 2 of my friends from work Ellen and Diane that were kind enough to come take me for lunch, one for Janet, the woman who does my hair and one for my mom. I used the pattern in the One Skein Wonders book and they turned out great. If you want to knit up this pattern, the person that you are making it for has to be really small (like a size 4 or 6 MAX) or you will need to adjust the pattern and make it bigger. All of these people were really little so I did not have to adjust the pattern for them, but another friend from work wants one and she is a little bigger. So I will have to play with the pattern to make one for her.
I just started another felted purse - it is a variation of the Bubble Bag. I am using Cascade 220 in a cream color and also Feza to add some texture. This is a very quick knit since it is done on size 17 needles.
What else do I have on needles? Way too many things. I have just a few rows left on Amanda's squatty sidekick in a pretty peach yarn. I also have a Noni bag in the works - just have to finish a few stitches on the last flower and I can felt it and finish it up. It is very cool and I am making it for my mom. I have to have it done by September 21 as she wants to take it on the cruise we are going on. Wow - I cannot wait. The cruise starts in Amsterdam and ends in Rome and I am sure it will be fantastic.
